Attention Albert Haynesworth: You're Paid to Play

I get paid to do a job.
Most adults get paid to do a job.
We apply, interview, negotiate, take the position and do the job.

Nowadays, a lot of job descriptions have the all-encompassing, "other duties as assigned" to ensure employees do what is asked, even if it is outside of the specific scope of their jobs, though within reason. We've all had to fill-in for an absent co-worker or step up when a task needed to be done. At many companies, the willingness to go above and beyond is rewarded with a token gift card, comp time and/or reflected in a year-end bonus.

The aforementioned isn't even the case with Redskin's defensive player Albert Haynesworth. Coach Shanahan isn't asking him to become an offensive tackle, punt returner or do anything outside of his scope of work. The coach is simply changing to a 3-4 defense. This is the time when those "other duties as assigned" clause goes into action.

Whether or not Haynesworth is making $1M or $100M, he is paid to do a job...period. He needs to do his job. If he doesn't want to run the formation, then he should get his own football team, call the plays he wants and run them all day long. This is basic football, going back to Pop Warner Pee Wee games: the coach calls the plays and the players execute.

Football teams are not democracies! What Haynesworth has failed to realize is that the Redskins can't give into his histrionics. If they do, then they run the risk of having other players hold the team hostage.

Hey Albert, shut the f*ck up, get your Black a$$ on the field and do your job!
