TechAdventureDC at Rappahannock Winery

This was one of my last outings for the official Summer 2009 season. It was a great afternoon of friends, food and most definitely wine. It was a scorching day, which kept me from drinking more wine (mind you, this is not a complaint). It is always good when 2 or more tweeps gather.

Our destination for the afternoon, Rappahannock Cellars.

These were the 3 white wines we tasted and they were all pretty good.

This is the vineyard's proprietor giving us tasting directions; we broke up into 3 groups and rotated to the white, red and dessert wine stations.

Some of us were paying attention, some were eating and still others were posing for the camera (@Danielle)!

Yes, I ate as well. The TechAdventureDC committee provided us with refreshments from local farmers. The cheese was abso-frickin'-lutely wonderful, and of course, the dairy doesn't have a web site or sell their products online. Why would they, its only the 21st century?

All of nature joined us on Saturday's adventure, including this praying mantis that looked like it could handle a glass of port on its own with no problems.

I live in Washington, DC, one of the most beautiful places on earth. My personal mantra, "live your life, this isn't a dress rehearsal, you don't get very many do-overs, and guilt is a wasted emotion."
