Remember elementary school, teachers had a poster with all student's names and she would put red, blue, silver or gold stars next to your name for doing or achieving something. I distinctly remember checking it daily to make sure I had a good number of them. We should use that system as adults. I say, "bring back stars!!!"When your husband takes out the trash, without being asked - star
When Facebook, Twitter, Google and the rest stop fixing what isn't broken - star
When the mechanic, plumber or electricians explain what is broken in English - star
When your child gladly cleans his/her room - star

When your co-worker gets you coffee/tea just because - star
When someone lets you merge in front of them on the highway - star
When a passerby flashes you a smile on a rainy day - star
When your Mother surprisingly doesn't offer a "but" - star
When your evil-ass manager congratulates you on a job well done - star
When one of your Tweeps notices your not tweeting love, peace and light one day - star
When we don't see FailWhale for 30 days straight - star
When your good girlfriend calls to say hi just because - star
How else can folks earn star?????

Great idea, used to wonder if God had charts for each of us with smiley face for good stuff, lol
Husband made a cocktail for me after I had worked a really long day. Star!
You know I love you, Shan, but no to the stars. I am a big believer in intrinsic motivation, it has to come from within. Rewards systems teach kids and others to perform FOR the reward. Studies show that once the reward is withdrawn, the behavior stops.
So, as mean as it sounds, I don't do rewards for my children. Or anyone else.
For more info (if you care..otherwise, just pretend I posted these due to PMS)
